The Next Big Thing

As usual, I’m late with my blog post. I tend to juggle too many balls in the air and the darn things bounce all over my head!

Eden Glenn was kind enough to include me in her participation of The Next Big Thing. This is when we discuss our current works in progress. So here goes…

What is the working title of my book? The Crystal Slipper

Where did the idea come from for the book? I love fairy tales and wanted to write a contemporary one.

What genre does your book fall under? Light paranormal, fantasy, romance

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition? Gee, I hadn’t even thought about it.

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book? Discover the magic of love at first sight.

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency? At this point, I am still shopping it around.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?Four months

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre? I Dream of Genies by Judi Fennell. I thoroughly enjoy her books and hope to be as good!

Who or what inspired you to write this book? I received an ornament at a party. It was a crystal shoe, and I knew it was my next big thing!

What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?Find out what a shy librarian and a wealthy chocolatier have in common when a little magic is thrown into the mix. Rich…chocolatier, get it?

And now for some of the authors I’ve tagged:

  1. Beth, Wishing you a happy Christmas and wonderful writing adventures with your new book.

  2. Hey Selena: I love the premise for your story. It sounds like a fun romance. I can’t wait to read it.
